How To Erase Bad Credit Reports

Credit is not just about buying a house any more. You need credit to do almost anything these days. Most landlords now require a credit report before they will rent to you. Some companies even require a credit report for the people who apply for employment with them. To erase bad credit you need to begin by obtaining a credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus. Be sure to get all three because they will not all have the same records. The information each agency has depends on which company your creditors use for their credit reporting.

Once you have those in hand look for incorrect entries such as bills you have paid off that are still there. Another thing to look for is debts that were paid off long ago. There is a limit to the amount of time certain debts can be listed on your credit report. If the time has expired and the debt is paid off, request that it be removed. You will then want to dispute every inaccuracy that you find in the report. It is up to you to contact the credit bureaus and get this all cleaned up.
